Having trouble getting that pesky cover off to replace your oven light? Let me give you a couple tips.

So the first and obvious way, and you've likely already tried, is just to use your hands. Lefty Lucy, righty tighty. Turn the cover to the left, pop it off, swap the bulb, put the cover back on, turn it to the right, and tighten it back into place. And as we can see, it's not always as easy as it sounds. Even though I have a camera in front of my face, I'm still fumbling around with the cover.

Next thing you can do if that cover's being difficult is to take a rag, wrap it around the cover, and give it a little love tap with a hammer. And I do mean love tap. It is glass. If you hit it too hard, you'll break it and you're going to need to buy a new one. Once you've tapped it, turn it to the left, swap that bulb, put the cover back in, and turn it to the right to lock it down. Lastly, if all else fails, we can use a strap wrench and you can find these at your auto parts store. Honestly, it's just an oil can wrench, but it serves a lot of purposes. Slip it over the cover, tighten it down, and give it a turn to the left. If that breaks it free, great. You're done. If not, I highly suggest you call for service as we are playing with glass and I do not want it to break and potentially get somebody hurt.
