What the Course Covers
The one week course covers the basic principles of microwave repair and appliance electrical theory. This includes:
- Microwave Theory, Repair and Diagnostics
- Appliance Electrical Theory
- Understanding Wiring Diagrams
- Hands-on training
The student will learn the core fundamentals on microwave repair. We will discuss how to tell the difference between a high or low voltage issue. We will break down the four major high voltage components and the most accurate way to diagnosis each component.
Many repair companies assume microwaves are not worth fixing and that would be the case for a $99 microwave at an outlet store. Microwaves range from $50 all the way up to $3,000 depending on the model and specs, and we will show you how to fix any microwave design regardless of brand or price!
Appliance Electrical Theory
Each student will understand how electricity is generated and how it enters the home and gets to each appliance. Understanding the difference between series and parallel circuits. The students will then get to build their own circuits to help visualize the entire process and simulate what occurs inside an appliance.
Each student will learn the fundamentals of using a volt meter, analog and digital. We will also teach them the pros and cons for each meter.
The student will also learn how to check for proper power using only a volt meter for 120 and 240 VAC outlets. A very common misdiagnosis are power issues with outlets and we want to ensure each student understands how to properly diagnosis this issue while using the proper terminology.
Understanding Wiring Diagrams
The instructor will breakdown multiple wiring diagrams with the class explaining how power flows through the entire product depending on its current state. These principles will apply to all brands, including LG and Samsung.
Understanding how electricity moves through an appliance will help the student make a more accurate diagnosis when an issue does occur.
