Got a funky smell coming from that disposal and you're not sure what to do? Clean it with some ice.

Cleaning your disposal with ice is honestly the cheapest and most efficient way of doing so. You're simply going to pack as much ice down in the disposal as you can fit. Any type of ice is going to do the trick as long as it's not the size of a baseball, and why you have baseball size ice probably means that you enjoy whiskey or bourbon or you have a problem with your ice maker. Once you have that disposal packed with ice, simply run some cold water and let her rip.

Now you can see here that the disposal doesn't suck all the ice in, and I used a little scoop to finish the job. Under no circumstances should you ever stick your hand down inside that garbage disposal. I don't think I need to tell you why, but wink wink, you won't be left with fingers. On a happier note, this process can be repeated as many times as needed to clean out your disposal.

Lastly, if you put too much ice down in the disposal, there's a chance it turns into a slushy and will freeze your drain line, so if your sink stops draining during this process, don't panic. It's just ice. It's going to melt.
